It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we write to share the news that AmandaMiner, a beloved BTNY student and Teaching Fellow alumnus was involved in a fatal accident during the early hours of Thursday, March 16th.
Since Amanda joined our community in the summer of 2008 she had been a key staple of our community and was the epitome of what it meant to be a BTNY student. Amanda was an incredibly energetic student, who was passionate about everything she did, and could accomplish anything she set her mind to. The impact Amanda had on our community was immense, we can only expect that her absence will be just as immense.
We will very much miss Amanda and will do our best to continue her memory and legacy as someone who loved life and loved those within her life fiercely. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this incredibly difficult time.
We are so touched at the outpouring of generosity from so many of Amanda Miner's loved ones. To everyone who has made a gift to BTNY in memory of Amanda, thank you. Because of you, and the way you have honored Amanda's memory, her legacy of service and love will continue to grow. We know Amanda would be proud of her generous friends.
